Media Freelancer
Carissa has been working as a media freelancer since the age of 15. She began writing live reviews and doing music photography for Black Velvet Magazine, and has gone on to work with a large number of companies, from food start-ups to fashion agencies. She's worked at Summer In The City, the UK's largest video convention, as well as Sundown and Slam Dunk, some of the UK's biggest music festivals. She has also worked with many private clients working on projects such as engagement parties, music videos and headshots for young actors and professionals. Some of her greatest achievements as a freelancer include directing a successful music video and winning the World Skills UK gold medal for video editing. 

Video Engineer
Carissa spent a year working at Hideaway Live, South London's prestigious live music and comedy bar, as a Video Engineer. Her role included setting up and maintaining lighting and camera equipment, live editing during the performances, managing content on the YouTube channel and selling DVDs to customers and performers.

Social Media Manager
For a year and a half Carissa worked with Just Consultancies, a fashion agency who work with brands such as Nicce, Fila and Mi-Pac. While she was at Just she increased social media engagement by 40% by developing brand awareness and online reputation. Her role included creating custom content to engage and inform audiences as well as administration and updating the company’s website, Facebook and Instagram feeds.


University of Leeds
Carissa currently studies Film, Photography and Media at the University of Leeds, concentrating on production management, media technologies and video editing. 

North East Surrey College of Technology
Carissa studied Creative Media Production for two years prior to University, concentrating on developing her practical skills. She achieved a grade of Distinction*, Distinction, Distinction.
